About Mister Steve
Mister Steve is a “fixit” guy
Much to the consternation of his lovely wife, Mister Steve hates to throw anything away. Mister Steve believes that even if something cannot be fixed, the parts of that something might, just might, be used to fix something else. Mister Steve is often able to take those parts and serrendipitously put them to use in unexpected ways; saving thousands..., no hundreds..., um... would you belive tens? OK, perhaps dollars at a time on repaired items that don’t have to be replaced.
On the down-side that leaves loads of unused “somethings” piled all around the basement until a use arises for them.
Mister Steve has the patience to piece together broken glassware ornaments and trifles in a painstaking manner that can take weeks for completion. In many cases he can restore the item to a state where it does not appear to ever have been broken. Somtetimes not.
Mister Steve’s daughers and their friends recognize him as a person who fixes their costume jewelry and returns it in better-than-new condition by improvising bridges and soldering the gaps in all of the links.
Mister Steve is a musical guy
Mister Steve Golden has been around music all his life. He sang in family trios and quartets in his formative years, and plays a variety of instruments including guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, and many other stringed instruments, while in the last twenty years, has assisted with live audio performances, and studio audio production and recording.
Yes, Mister Steve plays a mean electric guitar. Would you belive the guitar is mean? But his playing’s not too bad either. In the mid-1980’s Mister Steve was in a Christian Rock band called “Escape”. This band performed free concerts around the greater Denver, Colorado area. During and since that time, Mister Steve has written many songs; 25 of them are recorded, produced and available for listening on one of his other Web sites: SMGolden.com. Mister Steve has at least 19 other songs yet to be recorded, and has ideas for many other songs in various stages.
Mister Steve is a “writer” guy
Over the years, Mister Steve has written some short stories—mostly Science Fiction, and a few poems which you can read at Mister Steve’s Stories and Poems. I uploaded them from a “bit bin” the other day and read them for the first time in nearly 20 years. It was almost scary! “Did I write those?,” I thought to myself. I don‘t think I could write that well today. Hey, if you like any of them, pass me a note to let me know. Thanks!
Mister Steve is a fun guy
No, not a mushroom. Mister Steve loves to laugh and engage in wordplay: sayings, quotes, puns, figures of speech, turn of phrases, linguistic twists, anomalies, and more. One of Mister Steve’s favorites is pronouncing Doughnut as “Duff-nut.” You might enjoy reading Mister Steve’s language observations.
Mister Steve has collected many sayings and quotes over the years. You can review them at SMGolden’s Sayings and Quotes page.
Mister Steve is a Godly guy
Not to sound self-righteous, Mister Steve’s righteousness is in Jesus Christ alone, Mister Steve strives every day to live his life according to God’s will; realizing that no matter how hard we try, as humans we can never measure up to God’s standard, so we rely on Jesus Christ to make up the difference—and what a difference! Godliness is not so much being righteous as it is acknowledging righteousness (Jesus Christ) and admitting our own weaknesses to the Almighty God.
As such, and being the “son of a preacher man”, Mister Steve has written down, for himself primarily, but has made available to everyone else, many of the things he believes are true. You can read what Mister Steve believes on these subjects at SMGolden.com. Once you get there, click on the “Theology” item in the left Navigation bar, and select any topic of interest to you from the expanded list. A PDF document will be presented.
Mister Steve also has a strong interest in Biblical Creation as a scientific basis for one’s world view. Contrary to the popular saying, “The facts speak for themselves,” no fact ever speaks for itself. All facts must be interpreted. When they are interpreted it is done through one’s world view. Being aware of this, after many years of collecting information and learning many things, Mister Steve developed some PowerPoint presentations on Creation and Antiquities which may give you reason to pause and reconsider what you might have been taught about “science” all your life. These are freely available to you at his Web site: SMGolden.com. Once you get there, click on the “PowerPoint” item in the left Navigation bar, select one of the links of interest to you from the list presented, and you’ll be taken to a page related to that presentation. From there, you can download the presentation as well as a PowerPoint viewer if you don't already have one.
